The Uttar Pradesh Town and Country Planning Act 1973 (Section 30 of the Act) in the context of the urban development area and the development sector led to the formation of the Rampur Development Authority. The Uttar Pradesh Government Notification No. 1013/ A-6/ 2005- Bijnor/ 2003 Lucknow, dated 15.04.05 (Annexure-6) was issued for this purpose. The Rampur Master Plan 2005 was prepared, and the development area was categorized into various sectors, including residential, commercial, industrial, and recreational sectors. The planning was designed to enhance the growth of the region and to improve the quality of life in these sectors.
The Rampur Development Authority Act was enacted in 1985-2005, and in the year 2005, the need to expand the boundaries and urban area of Rampur was recognized. As a result, the Rampur Development Authority Act was amended by Uttar Pradesh Government Notification No. 1070/ A-6/ 2005- Bijnor/ 2003 Lucknow, dated 15.04.05 (Annexure-7), establishing the Rampur Development Authority. The purpose was to ensure appropriate development and expansion, including land acquisition for the expansion of the city area, urban infrastructure, and other necessary urban development activities.
The Rampur Development Authority was further expanded and improved by including the rural areas under the Rampur Development Authority. With the creation of this Authority, the planning for the development of townships and villages was set to a better standard to ensure organized growth and meet future requirements.
